The Rural Women’s Development Project in Timor-Leste is a project introduced by the International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) to support rural women’s economic development. The program has been implemented through partnership with national Timorese NGO Alola Foundation, and two local Timorese NGOs: Organisasaun Haburas Moris (OHM) and Centru Comunidade Covalima (CCC). The first round of the Rural Women’s Development Project was conducted from 2012-2015.
Bridging Peoples was engaged to conduct a final evaluation of this first round, to assist partners in their forward planning. A combination of focus group discussions and key informant interviews were conducted with total 62 people, to assess the relevance, impact, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and lessons learned in the projects and partnership between IWDA and OHM and CCC respectively in fulfilling the project objectives.
As an internal document, this project evaluation is unpublished. However, broader think-pieces were published, drawing on the findings of this evaluation.
